Hot Springs
Truly the jewel of the Kootenays!
There is a mystical allure to hot springs. They offer a sense of sanctity, which inspires calm – and are therefore quite indicative of what the valley offers to visitors. One of the best ways to kick back and blow off the world is to soak in a mineral spring. The valley offers a variety of hot springs experiences – from rustic to full blown spas.
Fairmont Hot Springs & Radium Hot Springs
Both providing the spa experience both facilities offer a large cool pool as well as the traditional hot pools that work such wonders on tired, aching muscles and joints.
Lussier Hot Springs
Located at the entrance way to Whiteswan Provincial Park southeast of Canal Flats, Lussier Hot Springs is a rustic endeavor. Adjacent to Lussier Creek, these hot pools are often crowded nowadays as their renown continues to spread. Be prepared for a wait or brave the crowds.
Ram Creek Hot Springs
Located on Ram Creek Forest Service Road, which runs between Sheep Creek/Skookumchuck and the Top of the World Provincial Park road, this is also a rustic experience. The water of the large main pool is cooler and deeper than Lussier and this magical location, located within the Ram Creek Fire burn-site, is also becoming more and more popular, despite the rigorous vehicular adventure getting there. (Warning: the road to Ram Creek is poorly maintained)
